Avatar (2009)Enter the World
Avatar, a creature whose genetics are half human and half Na'vi, a sentient humanoid race who inhabit the new found planet Pandora. James Cameron, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, CCH Pounder, Laz Alonso, and Sam Worthington are the cast. Worthington plays the character Jake Sully who in this film is a war veteran who suffered the loss of the use of his legs. Now he sits in a wheel chair but the military decides to offer him his legs back if he agrees to go to the new planet and help them. The reason the military is there is to try and destroy the inhabited race and get possession of the planet for the sole purpose of a rock.
This rock sells for around 20 thousand dollars a kilo and they will stop at nothing to get possession. And the residents of the planet, called the Na'vi, will also stop at nothing to protect their home from the invading army. When Jake is offered to become half Na'vi and half human through the use of a clone like operation he agrees and so becomes one of the Avatars or the army’s elite group. This group of hybrids battles against the residential race for control of the planet and is up against the fight of their lives. Somewhere amidst the fighting Jake meets an attractive female counterpart and falls in love with her as well as the planet. He then turns on the army and decides he will help the Na'vi defend their homeland.
From beginning to end this Sci-Fi thriller will have you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next scene. When you feel like the movie is at its climax you will see that you were wrong and the futuristic action just keeps on going.
