Crazy Heart (2009)The harder the life, the sweeter the song.
Robert Duvall, Scott Cooper, Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal are the main cast of this movie that is mainly about a musician that is addicted to good music, good alcohol and bad women. His life revolves around his music and it seems he never has time for anything else in life. His name is bad Blake and he will remain bad Blake and nameless till the day he dies. That is what he tells an interviewer that he ends up having dinner with. Bad Blake has been involved in music his whole life which he learned how to play on his own and drew his inspiration from legendary singers from our past. Musicians such as Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings were his icon in drawing his own song writing and playing and singing inspiration from.
Bad Blake is now a national treasure and has become a famous singer song writer in his own time. But his personal life is what the story is mostly about, it doesn’t show that his personal life is being effected or effecting his music life as in most bad music movies. Instead there is a nice balance the way it should be. Bad Blake and his father are seen in the film, played by Robert Duvall and there is no bad energy between the two as you normally would see as well in films like this. So there is a nice aura of energy from this film that is a good one to watch alone or with your favorite movie partner. Jeff Bridges really does a very good job at playing this role as it stands he grew up around music his whole life for real and now he shows that he really knows how to play the role of someone like bad Blake.
