Grown Ups (2010)Boys will be boys... some longer than others
Grown Ups is a typical example of a PG-13 comedy written by Adam Sandler. Anyone familiar with his style, movies and sense of humour would easily guess how the movie is, and the fans of his style would most certainly love this movie, as well. The film is directed by Dennis Dugan and since he directed some of other Adam Sandler projects (I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, You Don't Mess With The Zohan) very successfully, the expectations of the fans are pretty high. The fans of his work and these type of comedies will not be disappointed, since this film rocks as a comedy. The main cast is very familiar for people following these comedies. The cast of the movie have worked together in various projects for years, they all have worked in Saturday Night Live and were among the funniest people of their time in SNL. The five main male characters are Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler), Eric Lamonsoff (Kevin James), Kurt McKenzie (Chris Rock), Marcus Higgins (David Spade) and Rob Hilliard (Rob Schneider). We should not forget to mention beautiful and surprisingly funny Salma Hayek and Maria Bello as Roxanne-Chase Feder and Sally Lamonsoff. The story mostly surrounds the five main characters: These five men were very good friends and basketball team mates in high school. After thirty years of their graduation and celebration of their legendary championship, they learn that their dear coach has just passed away. To honour their beloved coach preparing them for the tournament and life, they decide to reunite after all those years at the very same place where they celebrated their championship as young, excited, hopeful and careless teenagers. Fortunately for us, the audience and unfortunately for them, they bring their wives and kids along and when they are all back together, they do things as if they were the teenagers of thirty years ago. Considering the mess and consequences of this behaviour and having the families around, it is not difficult to realize how fun and funny things can turn out! The fans of these kind of comedies will love the film, it is some kind of a 2010 version of The Hangover.
