Salt (2010)Who is Salt?
Salt is the latest movie of the action thriller director Phillip Noyce and there has been a hype going on about the movie especially after Tom Cruise was replaced by Angelina Jolie as the lead character. The film is a very strong action thriller with a lot of mystery going on. The action scenes are one of a kind and the fights are so realistic that both Jolie and Noyce should be celebrated in their artistic talent and hard work. Considering Noyce's old movies like The Bone Collector (he had worked with Jolie in this one, as well), Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games; it is not hard to realize that Salt is a good thriller and action. Another strong point for the film is its plotlines. Indeed, there is not only one plotline and the movie keeps you guessing. However, you can keep guessing as long and much as you want, you will think that you know the answer up to the point where the director really wants you to know the answer. That point is the point you realize you have been wrong all along. Jolie is accompanied by Liev Schreiber in the film and his performance is as strong as Jolie. The story is about the CIA agent Evelyn Salt, who is accused of being a Russian spy. When a Russian defector tells that someone named Evelyn Salt will kill the President, she goes on the run and tries to clear her name at the same time. However, it is not clear if she really is a double agent or not. Everybody at the agency think that they know her, but after some point, it is obvious that the information they think they have might not be true or it might be true, as well. The story and Angeline Jolie rocks the screen and once again, Phillip Noyce has proven to be one of the best action thriller directors.
