The Bounty Hunter (2010)The pursuit begins Spring 2010
Andy Tennant's (Fool's Gold, Sweet Home Alabama, It Takes Two) new romantic comedy The Bounty Hunter, which was written by Sarah Thorp (Twisted, See Jane Run) stars Jennifer Aniston (Friends, Marley&Me) and Gerard Butler (300, The Ugly Truth). Milo Boyd (Gerard Butler) is an ex-police officer who works as a bounty hunter. Nicole Hurley (Jennifer Aniston) is an investigative journalist who is buried deep into her investigation on a fake suicide which might lead her to the corruption in NYPD. These two characters used to be married but now they hate each other. Due to a traffic offence, Nicole has a court hearing but she skips the hearing to meet an informant to learn more about the faked suicide and ironically Milo is the bounty hunter responsible for bringing her in. Thinking that this job would be a very amusing and easy one, he sets up his plan and goes after her. But things go wrong, the 4th of July parade and the co-worker of Nicole who is secretly in love with her somehow manages to delay everything and they find themselves in Atlantic City. Milo owes some money to the loan sharks there and when they find out he is in town, they start chasing the couple and the unexpected action scenes start popping up in the film. The plot is not the strongest and most unique part of the film and Gerard Butler would definitely use some more practice on a tough outside, soft inside lead male character but thanks to the warmth Jennifer Aniston brings to the movie, the supporting actors such as Christine Baranski as Nicole's mother and Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live) as co-worker Stewart, and the amusing soundtrack; the cliche plot does not disturb the audience that much. The fans of the genre would definitely love the film and get a fresh sense of romantic comedy with the action elements, leading the unlikely couple to decide they might not hate each other after all.
Starring: Gerard Butler, Jennifer Aniston, Christine Baranski, Jason Sudeikis
