The Crazies (2010)Fear Thy Neighbor
In a small town on Iowa the water supply has been contaminated with a toxin that is turning the residents into violent psychopaths. There are a few townspeople that are un affected and one of them is the town sheriff. As the sheriff, played by Timothy Olyphant tries to unravel just what is going on he and his family are treated like they are just as sick as the others. This movie is not usually my cup of tea, but if you like action, horror and sci fi movies then you will most definitely like The Crazies. It is a cross between a good zombie movie and the move Outbreak.
Just when you thought that is was safe to drink the water again and watch a good movie with friends you will quickly see that the good people of this small town in Iowa are here for killing. Everyone is going crazy in this town and people seemingly can stand and stare for hours at other people just like a zombie and wait for their kill. There is no lack of violence in this movie from a man with a shotgun walking onto a ball field during a game to a prisoner in jail trying to grab the guards even though there is iron between them. You will be left on the edge of your seat as you wonder just where the next attack will come from and what lies just around every corner in the Iowa town.
Even the people in the local funeral home are finding out that their usual patients are not the usual type after drinking the water and looking as though they are dead. Children report to the local sheriff that they hear screams coming from the funeral home and when he goes to investigate, all you see is zombies.
Starring: Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker, Joe Anderson
